Application fields for batch plants

Before waste water is discharged into the sewerage system it must be treated and purified pursuant to statutory provisions and using the latest technology. Batch systems are employed for minor waste water quantities (<3 m³/h) with any pollutant concentrations.

The following treatments can be performed

  • Treatment of rinse waters, regenerating and concentrating
  • Chromate, nitrite and cyanide decontamination
  • Complex treatment
  • Neutralization
  • Sludge separation

General process description

If advanced flushing technology and corresponding water paths are employed, only small waste water flows of lower concentrations arise. This industrial waste water is decontaminated and neutralized in a batch system. The residues in the form of sludge particles (e. g. heavy metal hydroxides) are dewatered in a chamber filter press.

The respective treatment process depends on the respective waste water substances and will be determined accordingly.

Any occurring toxic gases can be reliably suctioned off and washed away with our exhaust air scrubber.

Description of system

In batch systems, the waste water is discontinuously treated in several successive chemical treatment steps taking into consideration the required reaction times. In the process, the waste water is pumped from a storage tank into the batch tank by means of a pumping station. After the decontamination, hydroxide precipitation or, if complex compounds are present, sulfide precipitation may be used. After a defined settling time, the clarified water is discharged from the batch. For secondary clarification, a sand filter and, if required, a selective ion exchanger are employed before the water is discharged into the sewerage system through final pH control. The sedimentation of the occurring flocculent sludges can also be effected in a batch or, as required, in a separate downstream sludge tank. Normally, the sludge is dewatered into a dumpable filter cake with a chamber filter press.
